How BeaconVisit uses your data

BeaconVisit uses the minimum information needed to help identify visits that may need safety support and to help you manage check-in, check-out, and escalation.

1. Why we need calendar access

BeaconVisit checks your calendar so it can identify appointments that may involve visiting a client or working away from your usual location.

2. What appointment information we may use

  • Appointment title
  • Start and end time
  • Location
  • Attendees
  • Whether the appointment appears to be online or in person
  • Calendar provider information needed to identify the appointment

We use this information to decide whether BeaconVisit should suggest check-in for the visit.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell calendar data
  • We do not use calendar data for advertising
  • We do not use calendar data to build a profile of your working habits
  • We do not constantly monitor your calendar for unrelated purposes
  • We do not track your location unless you are checked in to a visit, subject to your settings and app permissions

4. How location is used

BeaconVisit records your location while you are checked in so your escalation contacts have useful context if you do not check out. Depending on your settings and app permissions, BeaconVisit may record location information for the duration of the check-in.

5. How escalation contacts are used

Your escalation contacts are only used to contact them if you do not check out when required or if an escalation is triggered.

6. How long data is kept

BeaconVisit is designed to avoid keeping unnecessary calendar information for longer than needed. Exact retention windows will be documented after engineering and legal review.

7. How to disconnect

You can disconnect your calendar from your BeaconVisit account. You can also revoke access through your Google or Microsoft account settings.
